As of December 2010 a new qualification replaces the A and V qualifications for assessors and verifiers. These new units are helpful for teachers and trainers alike and they provide appropriate qualification for:
- assessors of competence in the workplace.
- Internal and external lead quality assurers.
- those wishing to gain an understanding of the principles and practices of assessment.
- learning and development managers.
These new qualifications are good news for the learning sector and Ofqual confirm that practitioners who already hold the A, V or D units will not have to prequalify but must be aware of and operate in accordance with the new relevant qualification.
